career change-do you choose the security or do what you love?

Okay, after almost 20 yrs of being a licensed insurance person, I quit my job. Lots of reasons but the biggest is that I **** INSURANCE. Now I have no health insurance for my family and could get another job in insurance quick if I want the health coverage BUT… I want to change careers. I dont know whether to pursue becoming a dog trainer(I adore dogs!) or pursue something I am sort of good at, which is creative writing…I cant decide what to do and the longer I sit doing nothing the more I get depressed. Any advice?

Well, from what I have learned (I also wanted to be a dog trainer) it’s very hard to get a job and it doesn’t pay very much. However, I’m a strong believer in doing things that will make you happy! Have you thought about working at a vet or a grooming place? There are plenty of ways to still work with dogs and make some decent dough…

Doe van wat u houdt. Het leven aangezien het is, bent u kort genoeg wilt de volgende 20 jaar die doen verschillend iets maar nog haten het doorbrengen? Waarschijnlijk niet. Ik bewonder en eerbiedig u voor het hebben van de moed om uw dromen te volgen en met uw baan op te houden. Probeer opleidend full-time misschien hond en schrijvend wanneer u vrije tijd hebt. Verg wat tijd om te berekenen welke ??n u van meer houdt en met dat gaat. Goed Geluk!!!!

OH! I am thinking you are like the coolest person in the whole freaking world right about now. I don’t have the guts to do what you just did. Aw, man…
Just do something. It matters more whether you go at it with a lot of oomph than whether you do this or that or what.
I’ma going to guess that you’ll get back into health insurance faster for yourself and family if you go with dog trainer. All the creative writing stuff I can think of is nothing but freelance work, which ain’t bad if ya got contacts.

Chances are that if you pursue what you love, you’ll eventually be much more successful than just doing a job for the security. Pursue your love and you can have your cake and eat it too. Why not do the dog training, breeding etc., and write about it also, advice books, stories etc.

Always follow your heart and do what makes you happy. You could always going into dog training and do some creative writing part time.

Beste Cape Cod, Welkom op de mid-life! LOL! Ik ben 40 jaar oud en ik deed hetzelfde. Na 16 jaar in retail en food service management, ik heb gewoon doodziek van en stoppen. Ik ben nu terug op de universiteit studeren voor mijn e-commerce mate in computers en internet design. Maar, in tegenstelling tot u Mijn vrouw en ik hebben geen kinderen en mijn vrouw kan 'mee naar huis de bacon' totdat ik afgestudeerd. Ik wil vermijden dat het creatief schrijven of een hond opleiding, beiden zijn erg slecht voor zover de vraag van de markt. Wat dacht je van een docent creatief schrijven? Hoe zit het beheer van een PETsMART winkel? Ik hou van webpagina's te bouwen, maar als ik heb alleen dat, ik wil helemaal geen geld. Dus, ik ga in e-commerce, waar ik nog kan ontwerpen van webpagina's, maar ook alles weten over on-line kopen en verkopen. Succes!

Je woont een keer, en u reeds bestede 20 jr iets dat u niet wilt. Waarom gaat u niet eens de komende 20 iets te doen dat je je wilt! Zorg ervoor dat de familie eet hun groenten, japonnen appropiately en neemt vitamine supplementen te zorgen voor een goede gezondheid, tot je iets met alle voordelen weer kijken naar de gezondheid aide in de gemiddelde tijd. Succes! ?

Mi primera impresión siempre es "hacer lo que te gusta!" Pero también entiendo la realidad financiera que se enfrentan. I resolver este dilema por que trabajan para un servicio temporal hasta que he encontrado un trabajo que amo. Freelance escrito de perro y de la formación son dos cosas que usted puede hacer "en el lado", mientras que fin de mes. ¿Hay algo más que hacer que disfrutar de ofertas que seguro que es más hasta su callejón? (por ejemplo, las relaciones públicas, que incorpore sus habilidades de escritura, posiblemente, para un animal organización) No he oído hablar de una compañía de seguros para animales de compañía en RI (suponiendo que viven allí porque de su apodo), sino como algo que podría ser capaz de combinar sus conocimientos con su amor. Sólo un pensamiento. Al final del día, sin embargo, sólo tiene una vida, y estoy de acuerdo con los demás. Firma con la temp. servicio al menos hasta me, y en movimiento, y ahora tengo un trabajo que realmente me gusta escribir y en el lado (y mi perro en casa a quien el amor y disfrutar enormemente).
